Biography

Aaron L. Nielson is a senior fellow at the Civitas Institute and holds the Charles I. Francis Professorship in Law at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. Nielson focuses his research on administrative law, federal litigation, and the separation of powers. He has published widely and served three terms as a public member of the Administrative Conference of the United States. Before joining the faculty, Professor Nielson served as Solicitor General of Texas where he argued five cases in the U.S. Supreme Court and oversaw all appellate litigation for the State of Texas.
