Biography

Gregory Salmieri is a Senior Fellow at the Civitas Institute. His research concerns issues at the intersection of ethics, epistemology, and political philosophy. Salmieri is the co-editor of A Companion to Ayn Rand (Wiley-Blackwell, 2016), Foundations of a Free Society (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2019), and Two Philosophers: Aristotle and Ayn Rand (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2025). His writings have appeared in numerous volumes and journals. He teaches in the philosophy department at the University of Texas, having previously taught at Rutgers University, Boston University, and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  He has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh.
