About the event
In celebration of Constitution Day, Civitas Senior Research Fellow John Yoo will join UT Provost Will Inboden for a wide-ranging discussion on the enduring legacy and challenges of the American Founding. Yoo and Inboden explore how the Constitution, as the world’s oldest still-functioning charter of government, continues to shape debates over executive power, congressional paralysis, and judicial restraint. They emphasize that law alone cannot sustain the republic without the support of civil society and shared moral commitment, while also considering the future of higher education and the necessity of viewpoint diversity as Americans strive to live more fully into the promises of the Declaration and the Constitution.
