Join Judge Edith Jones to explore the evolving landscape of legal challenges to presidential administrative actions, focusing on key cases from the Obama and Trump administrations. With particular attention to the Fifth Circuit—often at the forefront of these disputes—the discussion will also touch on rulings from other courts that have shaped the trajectory of executive power. The lecture will provide insights from both the litigating and judicial perspectives, offering a firsthand look at the legal arguments, judicial reasoning, and broader implications of these high-stakes battles. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how courts have responded to executive actions across a range of policy areas, from immigration and healthcare to regulatory authority and separation of powers.
